Vice Chancellor's Message

The erstwhile Bongaigaon College (established in 1964) has been upgraded to present Bongaigaon University by the Bongaigaon University Act, November 2023. The University inherits a great legacy of good administration, academic excellence and a pool of experienced teaching and non-teaching staff. It is now a full-fledged academic higher institution with Arts (B.A., M.A.), Commerce (B.Com., M.Com.) and Science stream. The B.Sc. and M.Sc. programmes have been opened at Birjhora Mahavidyalaya, which is a constituent college of the University with permission from the Higher Education Department, Govt. of Assam. We are happy to announce that from the next academic session (from August onwards), Ph.D. in select subjects will also be introduced in order to create a research atmosphere in the University. The University admits students from all sections of the society throughout Assam and adjoining districts of West Bengal as well. We have limited hostel facilities also for both boys and girls. Other student facilities include NSS, Sports and many clubs for total upliftment of the students. So, all are welcome to this new University of Bongaigaon district.
